Terms of Service

These terms cover the Siny app for Mac, the siny.me website and the online services behind them, such as accounts and AI features. By installing Siny or creating an account you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use Siny.

“Siny”, “we” and “us” mean the people who make the app. You can reach us at [email protected].

Your account

You need an account for some features. Give us an email address you actually use, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else got into your account. You’re responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 16 to use Siny.

Your recordings are yours

You own everything you record, edit and export with Siny. We claim no rights to it. Recordings stay on your Mac. When you use an AI feature, you let us and ElevenLabs process the needed audio or text just long enough to give you the result, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Make sure you have the right to record what’s on your screen and anyone you capture on camera or microphone, and follow the law where you are.

Fair use

Please don’t use Siny to:

• break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights;
• record people without the consent the law requires;
• clone or imitate someone’s voice without their permission, or make deceptive or harmful content with the AI features;
• attack, overload or reverse engineer our servers, or get around rate limits and plan limits;
• resell access to our online services.

We may suspend or close accounts that do these things. If it’s not urgent, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to explain.

The app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use Siny on Macs you own or control. The app, its code, design and the Siny name remain ours. Siny updates itself, and an update may change or remove features.

AI features and third parties

Captions, voiceover and voice design are powered by ElevenLabs. Siny can also work with Claude Code, which you install and use under your own agreement with Anthropic. These services can be wrong: check captions and generated audio before you publish them. We’re not responsible for third-party services, but we pick them carefully and tell you which ones we use.

Plans and payments

Siny is free right now, and some features may have usage limits. If we introduce paid plans, you’ll see the price and terms before you pay, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.

No guarantees

We work hard to make Siny reliable, but it’s provided “as is”. We can’t promise it will always be available, free of bugs or right for your purpose. Keep copies of recordings that matter to you.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost recordings. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, or €50 if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for gross negligence or intent, or your rights as a consumer.

Ending things

You can stop using Siny at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to [email protected]. We may stop offering Siny or parts of it. If we shut down an online service, we’ll give reasonable notice. The app on your Mac and the recordings you made with it stay with you.

Changes

We may update these terms as Siny grows. The date above shows the latest version. For changes that matter, we’ll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Siny after that, you accept the new terms.
